Community ownership since 2007
In 2007, after a ballot returned 97% support, the community of Comrie bought the 90-acre former military camp for £350,000. The site is managed for community benefit by Comrie Development Trust.
Businesses operate from its huts, guests use converted accommodation, and community groups and events use the grounds. Income from the Camp and other CDT activities helps maintain community assets and support the Trust's wider work.
