Accident & Safety

Reporting an accident or near-miss

All accidents, injuries, and dangerous occurrences on site must be reported to the camp manager as soon as possible — and always within 24 hours. For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 first.

  • Note the date, time, and exact location of the incident.
  • Record the names of anyone involved and any witnesses.
  • Describe what happened and any injuries or damage caused.
  • Report in person or by email to the camp manager — keep a copy for your own records.

First aid

A first aid kit is located at the camp office. If you need assistance and cannot reach the camp manager, call 999. The nearest hospital with A&E is Ninewells Hospital, Dundee (approx. 35 miles). The nearest minor injuries unit is Perth Royal Infirmary.

Fire

In the event of fire, evacuate immediately and call 999. Do not attempt to tackle a fire yourself unless it is very small and you have been trained to use an extinguisher. The camp muster point is the main car park. Notify the camp manager as soon as it is safe to do so.

For Tenants

Site access

The site is accessible 24 hours a day with your key fob. Vehicle access is via the main gate off the B827. Parking is available adjacent to your unit — do not block shared access routes. If you lose your key fob, contact the camp manager immediately.

Reporting a maintenance issue

For non-urgent repairs, email the camp manager with a description of the issue and your unit number. For urgent faults affecting safety, heating, or security, call the camp manager directly.

  • Broken locks, windows, or doors — urgent, call immediately.
  • Heating or electrical faults — urgent, call immediately.
  • General wear and tear or cosmetic issues — email within a reasonable time.
  • Always include your unit number and a photo where possible.

Shared facilities

Shared areas including access paths, car parks, and communal waste facilities are the responsibility of all tenants. Please keep shared spaces clear, dispose of waste in the designated bins, and report any issues to the camp manager.

Lease and admin queries

Questions about your lease, payments, or tenancy terms should be directed to the CDT office. The camp manager handles day-to-day site matters; the Trust office handles commercial and legal queries.
